Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how you can delete your MetroFeeder account and the personal data associated with it. We provide both an in-app self-service option and an email-based fallback so you can choose whichever is most convenient.
Quick summary: Open the MetroFeeder app → Profile → Help (passengers) or Profile → Support (drivers) → scroll to the Delete Account section, or email privacy@metrofeeder.app from your registered email address.
1. Delete your account from inside the app
- Open the MetroFeeder mobile app and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
- Open Help (passenger app) or Support (driver app).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Type
DELETEin the confirmation field, optionally provide a reason, and tap the confirm button. - You will be signed out immediately. Your server-side account record is hard-deleted at that moment; ride records are anonymised (your user id is set to NULL) so the driver's payment history and regulatory records remain intact.
2. Request deletion by email (fallback)
If you cannot access the app — for example, you have already uninstalled it or lost access to your registered phone number — you can request deletion by email:
- Send an email to privacy@metrofeeder.app from the email address linked to your account.
- Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- Include your registered mobile number so we can verify your identity.
We will confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, in line with applicable data-protection laws (DPDP Act 2023, GDPR where applicable).
3. What gets deleted

4. What we are required to keep
Indian tax, transport and consumer-protection laws require us to retain certain records even after account deletion. These are kept in restricted, anonymised form (your user id is set to NULL on the row, so the record cannot be traced back to you):
- Ride & trip records (pickup, drop, fare, GST invoice) — 5 years (IT Rules 2021 + GST records retention).
- Payment & refund records — 8 years (Indian Income Tax Act, 1961).
- KYC documents (drivers) — 5 years after the driver's last active ride.
- Deleted-account audit row (user id, deletion timestamp, IP, optional reason) — 3 years for fraud prevention, in the
deleted_users_logtable.
5. Reversibility
The in-app delete is a hard delete performed immediately when you confirm. It is not reversible. If you change your mind after deleting, you will need to sign up again as a new account; previous ride history will not be re-attached.
